Psychology is often focused on the disorders and problems that can arise from exposure to traumatic events. Recently we have started to investigate and understand how we can grow and heal after trauma. Using the examples of Tony Stark and Thor from the Marvel Cinematic Universe we will explore how one can move from symptoms of Post-traumatic stress to post-traumatic growth. We will use examples from the films and current research to discuss how growth comes after trauma. This training will contain spoilers for MCU films.
