Where Did All This Nostalgia Come From

About this Training

The gaming industry has finally aged enough to have “the good old days” in many minds and they’re being referenced by savvy marketers to get us interested in remakes, remasters, re-releases, HD upgrades, and an endless parade of 16-bit style indie games. This lecture will explore the psychology of nostalgia given its emotional nature, its mental triggers, and the benefits it can have when experienced. The talk will also describe how nostalgia is distilled and targeted for maximum effect in marketing and advertising.
