How to Incorporate Yalom's Therapeutic Factors into Your D&D Therapy Group

About this Training

This training aims to teach participants about Irvine Yalom’s therapeutic factors in the context of D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) therapy group settings. Participants will learn which therapeutic factors are inherently easier to focus on within the D&D therapy setting. This training will cover how to apply the therapeutic factors to group treatment plans, group goals, and interventions within the session’s structure. Additionally, participants will explore how to foster certain therapeutic factors versus ones that emerge more naturally in game. This training is designed to help participants balance the roles of being both therapist and GM (game master).
